Friday, Saturday or Sunday in Florence?
Do any of you have opinions of the better day to visit Florence. I spent several months there in college (otherwise I'd schedule several days there) but a friend and I are going to make a day trip from Siena in October and would like to pick the lesser crowded day. We'll make reservations for the Uffitzi and the Academia and spend the rest of the day just soaking in the sites. Thanks!

I suspect any day is going to be crowded in Florence, however I'd chose Friday of the three.

I would go with Saturday. I have found that there are lots of school groups in Firenzie on Fridays. But since you know to make reservations you are already avoiding the big lines so the crowd difference in each day may not matter. Enjoy. Da Pennello near Michelangelo's home, great food, with excellent small antipasti bar, vistited mostly by locals & lots of clergy.

Where do you make a reservation for the Academia to see the David.

Go on Friday or Saturday. You can make reservations for the Uffizi and the Accademia at weekendafirenze.com.

I just returned from Florence and I would recommend going on either a Friday or Saturday because museum hours as well as church hours are more restricted on Sunday. Some attractions are not open at all on Sunday in Florence. Have a good time.
