Well my friend - actually my half-French son's mother as well as friend, got on the 6 am train to Paris with no problems or overcrowding and got on the metro/RER also to CDG - she says some RER trains were suppressed.
But she landing in Michigan so now only has to worry about the strike lasting for three more weeks to bother her return. What a pain in the rear it is to depend on Frech trains or RERs these days! |
Glad she made it. Hope her return goes as well.

lincasanova - I'll tell her about that car-sharing thing - thanks for mentioning that - for her future reference.

It is now estimated that only 10%, if that, of the rail workers are participating in the strike activities. The SNCF site states that some services are being interrupted through the weekend and into next Monday although the vast majority of timings and services appear to be running normally.

Mhy French friend says what Dukey1 says - union support for the strike is fading and things are getting much better.

The latest update:
http://www.english.rfi.fr/visiting-f...ch-rail-strike Things continue to improve apparently. |
Strikers are down to about 5% but some of them are in key places that manage to disrupt some of the traffic. Some of the commuter routes in the Paris suburbs are still suffering from this.
