French Riviera help.. Cap Ferrat
I've been trying to figure from the previous posts, but cant seem to find an answer to a question i have..
what would be the way to get from Eze to Cap Ferrat? Would train from Eze to Villefranche Sur Mer, then either walk or take a cab be good? What would a cab from Eze to Cap Ferrat cost? thanks |
I gather if you're asking about cabs, you will not have a car.
You can get a day train pass that allows you to get on/off anyplace along the route on a given date. Depending on how long you'll be at either Cap Ferrat or Eze you might make the train between each, if not a cab ride can't be too expensive, these towns are practically next to one another. So pick-up a train schedule when you arrive which will give you an idea of how much time you have to visit certain spots before you need to catch next train for your next destination. |
There isnt a train stop in Cap Ferrat, right? So should i take the train to the nearest city then take a cab to Cap Ferrat?
How long would the walk be from the nearest train station to the peninsula? |
Hi again Ray. I just looked on provencebeyond.com again for you. It says the walk from the train station in Villefranche or Beaulieu to Cap Ferrat is "long". It does say there's bus service between Villefranche & Cap Ferrat. Given your time constraints, I'd really suggest a cab between Eze & Cap Ferrat. The provencebeyond website says they're 7km apart.

Aside from the walk being long, the road is not meant for pedestrians and I would think safety might be a concern. If I remember it correctly, like most roads there, its fairly narrow with some blind curves, especially approaching the marina in Cap Ferrat. I agree with mclaurie...take the taxi.

thanks!
