Has anyone used the French Reservation Center in France.com to book a hotel?

Laurina, I used this service to reserve two hotels in Paris and one in Honfleur. It worked like a charm. Everything was in order and we didn't have any problems.

I used the service to book two hotels in Paris. I did confirm my reservations directly with the hotels before my trip just to be safe, and both had my reservation with the correct information.

Haven't received any bad reports about it. However, I always suggest whatever reservation agency you use, after they tell you the reservation is made, that you call the hotel directly and confirm it with them directly. Many people using agencies have arrived, the agency's confirmation in hand, and told there was no room reserved for them.

I guess I'm confused, but if you need to contact a hotel directly to confirm, meaning that you have the hotel's number or email, why do you initially book with an agency? Why not book directly with the hotel? I've usually found that if booking directly with the hotel you get a better rate than booking through any agency, unless it's some last minute deal, possibly.
