French Open questions
Does anyone know if there is any "atmosphere" outside Roland Garros stadium during the French Open, specifically during the finals weekend?
We can't afford tickets but it might be fun to hang out outside the stadium if there were jumbo tv screens and vendors selling souveniers and food/drink. Does anyone know? |
There should be some "atmosphere" but mind that the Stadium is not alone, it is inside a big complex of tennis courts (and another smaller stadium) so maybe outside..is very far :) I don't know if they'll let you go inside the complex without a ticket for an event (there are other finals the same day), security rules are hard these days but you can ask when you're there.

There is not much atmosphere outside.
Tickets are not expensive if you buy them directly from the foundation; unfortunately, they tend to be all bought up within minutes of going on sale and are then resold for ridiculous prices. |
Does anybody know if you are allowed to bring food inside? Hox expensive is the food?

In case anyone cares, I did find out that they sell a 15 Euro ticket for Championship Sat or Sun that gets you on the grounds and also into one of the outlying courts where they will have a "jumbo-tron" that will broadcast the womens' or mens' final match going on on the main court. I think you also get to watch the junior final and maybe the senior doubles final.
It sounds like fun, I think we might do it! |
Please share your information, we will be there first week of June and that would be fun.
Thanks |
Go to www.rolandgarros.com, which is the site for the French Open. Click on Tickets, sign in (you have to register to get to this area), then click on Booking Process. If you scroll down towards the bottom of the page, you'll see "We're all Going to the Finals" All the details are there. The big-screen will be on court #1.
