French Motorail Costs

Can anyone give me an idea of what I can expect to pay to take the French Motorail to Toulouse from Calais next July? I have gone onto the website but unfortunately the bookings for next year are not live yet and I can find no way of getting an approximate cost. Thanks

Just enter a closer date; that should give you a ballpark idea of the cost.

At the moment I'm afraid it's impossible to gague costs from their website as there is no facility to establish prices at all. I just wondered if anyone else had used it recently. I think costs may be too high for me to justify it.

There's a wealth of information out there for Googlers who enter French Motorail Calais Toulouse, including a phone number you can call for specific information and the suggestion that prices range between 430 and 590 British pounds each way.

I took one from Avignon to Paris several years ago - don't remember price but price was dependent on sleeping option - couchette vs private compartment, etc.

Hi Ferryann,

The "Motorail" is called the "auto/train" by the SNCF. The relevant web page is here:
http://www.voyages-sncf.com/guide/au...autotrain.html

I could not find any such service from Calais, however there is a service from Paris Bercy station to Toulouse:
http://www.voyages-sncf.com/design/g...isToulouse.pdf

The costs appears to be EUR 222 to 247 depending on the car size, plus a train ticket for each passenger. Obviously, the cost for the train tickets will depend on whether you chose a simple seat, a couchette or a bed.

Auto/train cannot be purchased on line, you need to call SNCF at +33 892 35 35 33 to book.

Hope this helps,
Andre
