Just saw "Avenue Montaigne" in the theater. Wonderful film! Funny, clever, moving. All that a movie should be.

Ssander - thank you for asking the question. It has been four years since my last trip to France and I NEEDED A FIX!!! This should keep me going for a while.

I just rented Caché. The French is really fast for me so far, so I'm depending on the subtitles.

Why is it that I have so much trouble understanding the French in movies? How frustrating!

If you like "Everyone Says I Love You", try La Meme Chanson (Same old Song), they burst into music there, too. M. Ibrahim is lovely, Nellie and Monsieur Armand, Cousin Cousine, Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

On absorbing the language, you'd be surprised- it helps with inflection and colloquialisms. Spanish tv for example, has helped me a great deal!
