French language CD's
Any recommendations for language courses/primers on CD? On the inexpensive side please. Just going for 5 days.

Inexpensive is your local library, n'est-ce pas? For just five days, learn to say hello, please, and thank-you, etc.; you'll be fine. M.

Geith-
Try the Pimsleur language CDs. Strictly conversation, little or no print material. Even the language-impared like myself can learn a little of a foreign language with this system.
-Mark Mitchell

Geith, thanks for the post and Mark thanks for the Pimsleur language CD suggestion! The useable suggestions are the best. You are not in the language impaired trenches alone! Many thanks! Danna

Whatever brand you choose - - and I do hear consistently good things about Pimsleur - - I think the public library is the place to start.

But the key to getting benefit from any audio learning aid, is : you MUST say it OUT LOUD. No mumbling. No "saying it in your head". Say it out loud. You have to get used to, and/or get over, your apprehensions about "how bad (or silly) you (think you) sound".

Best wishes,

Rex
