That was nice of you, Patricia, to list the forum's website. I've looked at it before and it's a very useful resource for those of us who love France. Oh! I looked at your B&B; it's very beautiful. Perhaps one day we'll be lucky enough to be your guests.

dln, I don't suppose I can prevail upon you to write two more versions of the French kiss, much like movie producers show different movie endings to focus groups to determine the version the public is most likely to enjoy. Naturally, you would get that immensely valuable feedback from us as well.

Finally got a chance to 'catch up' with the rest of your tale... one of the best trip reports I've read in a long while.
The Mistral lived up to its name here over the weekend. We had 140kmph winds for over two days, which ripped up 23 of those lovely platane trees that line our roads. Unfortunately the toppling trees took some high tension lines with them and we were without electricity for almost three days. Although I could use my stove (it's gas) we opted to cook on the fireplace, and spent the evenings by candlelight. And now I know why I've never really even given a thought to a camping vacation !

Just read your whole report a second time! So much to retain, and so enjoyable. Glad to hear you met Kevin. It's always fun to read about Fodorites meeting each other. My Gorges de Verdun question: you said it was "white knuckles". Is this from meeting traffic on a narrow road? No guardrails? What should I plan to expect? We're planning to drive from Moustiers to St. Paul de Vence. Were you meeting buses on hairpin curves? My husband keeps asserting that if he's driven logging roads in Oregon he can drive anything.
