Did something really nasty get posted there? I didn't see it.

There has to be a reason?

It could be that the editors deleted some really nasty comments that you didn't see. I think that they sometimes do this and then lock the thread for good.

It was a pretty harmless, reasonably civil thread about food. Someone used the word "troll" in a post, but I don't think that alone could trigger the action.

But unless you were checking continuously, there could have been posts posted and then deleted in between the times you checked. You never know. Presumably you don't check what gets posted at 3am in the morning. :-)

Right. I hadn't checked since maybe about 11 last night. But it was such a tame, innocuous thread that it surprised me to see it closed.
