free weekend - should I go to Portugal or Sweden?
 

I have a free weekend with free Flights and free hotel accommodation which I need to use. With the only weekend I have free (10th August) the only destinations available are Sweden and Portugal.<BR><BR>If you had the choice where would you go and why?

I would vote for Sweden. Portugal is fabulous, but in August, it will be hot and crowded!<BR>Regardless of where you choose,have fun!<BR>Jan

Hi...that's a hard one to choose...There are basic things I guess you already know, such as....Portugal's weather is better than the Swedish (normally), the cost of things is lower in Portugal, than in Sweden. But...Lisbon is not overcrowded in August...in fact Lisbon is...empty. Everybody is in the Algarve, so Lisbon is "empty" in August (I'll be working in August, because it will be much more relaxed). So...if you choose for Lisbon, you won't have problems with the crowds - but the Algarve is crowded (better..) C R O W D E D. - <BR>DIVERTE-TE ( have fun )

I would vote for Stockholm, especially if you have only a weekend. August is a great time to visit. And no, I'm not Swedish, in spite of the name.
