Free Lonely Planet iPhone apps. for 15 European cities

In the iTunes App. store until 4/22.

http://intransit.blogs.nytimes.com/2...ly-planet-app/

They cost $16, about the price of their city guides. Not sure if these iPhone apps. contain all the content of their books but it's free for the next couple of days so you can download them and try them.

They have about a dozen other cities which aren't free, so this may be their way of letting you sample their product.

Now, where are the Fodor apps?!?

Sorry, teach me not to refresh the page before starting a new posting.

If you go to the iTunes store and search for "lonely planet" then you'll find them under apps

Note they work on both iphone & itouch though not all the facilities will work on the itouch

BTW, they're offering this because of the people stranded by volcanic ash.

So if you're stuck in Europe, you can use these apps for ideas on what to do.

You need a solid Internet connection to download these though.
