free day in sicily

We will be traveling from Messina to Agrigento & have one free day. We have already been to Palermo, Erice & Trapani. Any other towns worth visiting for one night? Any suggestions appreciated!

With one free day, Piazza Armerina and the Roman villa of Casale - with a huge area of colored Roman floor mosaics.

Where is Piazza Amerina?

More or less in the middle of Sicily, south of Enna, which is on the Catania-Palermo autoroute:

Segesta and if they permit it a visit to Mt Etna. We were allowed within 800 feet on the sdummit and it was exhilerating. It erupted a few weeks later.

The amphitheatre in Taormina is spectacular, as is the view of Mt. Etna. The town is handles its tourism with dignity as a bonus.
