Franziskaner fans looking for info on Spaten Brewery tour in Munich, Germany
Does the Spaten Brewery in Munich, Germany, which brews the delicious Franziskaner Weissbier, offer tours of their brewery to the public?
I checked their website at www.spaten.de which, of course, is all in German, and I can not read it.
I did find directions on their site, which I'm assuming is to the brewery, but I'm not sure.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,

Their webpage makes no mention of an actual tour. If you go to www.franziskaner.com (not ".de" you can read about them in English.

Maybe this can help you out:

If/when you do take a brewery tour please let us know if you get any free samples. The last couple I went on in the States had the nerve to charge for tasting!
By the way, if you're ever up in Cooperstown, NY, you have to try out the Ommegang Brewery. It's Belgian beer but their Witte is almost as tasty as a German Weissbier. And they let you sample their whole line of brews.

Thanks, Otzi, for the replies and the links. Now I know that Spaten does offer a two hour tour which includes a film, a beer taste test and food. Unfortunately, the link doesn't provide any additional info, like times & costs.
The Ommegang Brewery is on our short list of Road Trips this fall. We only live a few hours from Cooperstown and have wanted to visit them for some time now. My husbands favorite Ommegang blend is Three Philosophers, which is a Belgian Triple (I think).
The Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, PA still offers free tours, with two free samples at the end of the tour. It's not my favorite beer, but it was free, and the tour was pretty neat. BTW, our friend's image was used as the barrelmaker on a large wall mural in the brewery.
