Frankfurt/Wiesbaden/Bacharach local transit

Jump to last reply

Hello and thanks in advance for your help.

We are a family of four (two teens, two parents) spending a few days in the Frankfurt area later this spring, and I'm trying to figure out local transportation. Our hotel is right by Frankfurt's Hauptbahnhof so our city exploring will probably be done on foot, but our other trips are not as easy. I'm not sure if it's worth getting an RMV week pass, or if we should get just Hesse passes or what.

Here's our schedule. What are your thoughts?

Day 1, Saturday: arrive at FRA, train to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, evening trip to Wiesbaden and back to meet friends for supper -- at this point we will have already been in Europe for a week, so we should have adjusted to the time difference and will be up to a full day

Day 2, Sunday: round trip to Wiesbaden

Day 3, Monday: split day trip to Strasbourg/Europa-Park, all set thanks in large part to the help already given here

Day 4, Tuesday: train to Sankt Goar 8am-ish, or would it be better to go to Sankt Goarshausen instead so the whole train trip is in Hesse? After the Sankt Goars/shausen trip, we'll use KD boat transportation the rest of the day, ending at the KD docks in Bacharach where we'll spend the night at Burg Stahleck

Day 5, Wednesday: depart from Bacharach to FRA for flight home, though we may have a ride from our friends

Thanks again for your counsel!
