It normally costs between 91 to 103 euros, but you can buy it online as advanced purchase for 29 euro.

Hi QueenyO,
We flew from Berlin to Frankfort and paid about $129. We flew Airberlin. Maybe you could get on the website for Airberlin and see if you could get a good price to fly. It's around a 1 hour and 20 minute flight. Just a suggestion. natjgc

you can get pretty cheap ryanair flights frankfurt-central berlin.
the train is rather expensive.
or try interconnex for frankfurt-berlin rail. You need someone with a german bank account to buy the tickets for you and the website's all in German, but its much better value.

the 29 euro tickets IF available are for a specific train and cannot be changed - at least i believe
so rather tricky if you are landing at Frankfurt and want to take the next convenient train to Berlin - risk losing your 29 euro ticket and then having to buy a 100 euro or so ticket instead and on top of the 29 euro ticket
Are you doing any more train travel in Germany - because the German Twin Railpass IMO is an absolute bargain if wanting any flexibility or if you cannot get the 29 euro tickets, which can be hard to book, esp the closer the train date gets.
German Railpasses can be used on virtually any train any time - full flexibility - for more on German trains and railpasses i always refer two excellent sites - sites that give lots of objective info and not just the usual pass prices and add to cart option: www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.ricksteves.com - check out the railpass prices there - a Twin Pass means two names on one pass - an individual pass would cost about 20% more p.p.
If you were going round trip Berlin to Frankfurt at regular flexible fares the pass would be cheaper i think and give you two other days of unlimited travel to boot

PalenQ,
no I'm not doing any more travelling in Germany, just spending 4 days in Berlin and then on my way to Accra-Ghana. The German rail passes are very expensive. I think its about $300

No of course not in that case. www.bahn.de can yield fares as low as 29 euros if you book well in advance - city center to city center and the ride is only bout 4 hrs now - getting to airport, checking in, late flights, arriving, waiting for bags, getting in would not be much quicker
and plus on train you actually see something of Germany besides airports
Once in Berlin check out the Lander Passes if going to Potsdam or places around Berlin - up to five i believe can travel for 24 hrs in a great area on all buses, trams, regional trains, etc. Bought at stations

well the 29 euro fares may not be available on this short notice anyway and you will have no problem buying a ticket at the Frankfurt Airport's Fernbahnhof (long-distance train station as opposed to the airport's Regionalbahnhof) - hourly trains, tickets should always be available normally unless some football game is in Berlin.
