Frankfurt questions re. Climbing the Dom and a Walking Tour

I will be spending one day in Frankfurt in late June/early July. (I will be in the area for 2 weeks while DH works and will travel into the city one of those days, not sure which.) I have two questions:
1. I would like to climb the tower in the Kaiserdom. I see the Dom opens at 9:00. Can this climb be done in an hour? I could come back later for another look around the Dom if I didn’t see all I wanted to.
2. Has anyone gone on a Frankfurt on Foot Walking Tour? It leaves at 10:30, and I was wondering if I could climb the tower first and then meet the tour guide. It’s a pretty inexpensive tour that seems to go to/by several interesting spots I was going to try to see on my own anyway, and it is in English.

Though I just got back from Frankfurt a week ago, I haven't heard of the FoF walking tour! It sounds great and has a 93% excellent rating on trip advisor! I'd do it for sure.
And yes, if you are reasonably fit you can climb the Dom in under an hour! Just wear sturdy and comfy shoes!

I did the FoF walking tour. It meets at the Romer entrance (by the tram stop) so very close to the DOM. You do go into the DOM as part of the tour.

I loved the tour. There were 5 of us at the beginning but 2 people left half way through (they had to catch a train or plane or something). The 3 of us (plus guide) spent 5+ hours on the 3 hour tour. It was wonderful to ask whatever questions we wanted to. Near the end there was a hail storm so we sheltered in a cafe and continued to chat. I thought it was a great tour and it was inexpensive.

Thanks for info; think I will definitely put this on my agenda. Thinking early S-bahn in from Hoechst, go in Kaiserdom at opening and climb tower, meet the guide at 10:30, and then see what part of my day is leftover after that tour. I'd like to go into the Staedel if I have time, but I'm trying to approach all my days with a "what I get to see will be wonderful and don't fret the rest" attitude. I will of course include details of whatever I decide to do in the TR.

I took a tram from the train station to Hoechst and it took a long time. I never thought about the S-bahn, but then I was in no hurry. Looking forward to the TR.

I just remembered - don't worry if you're a bit late as the guide talks for a while where you meet him/her and then the first stop is the DOM. So you can always catch up if you don't finish by 10:30. He does not walk on the street but approaches the church via the square and then down the steps.

The correct web site for Frankfurt on Foot:

www.frankfurtonfoot.com

I like to be on time for tours, because otherwise you miss hearing stuff.

You can climb to the top of the Dom in about 10-15 min. depending on how fit you are. Once up there, make sure you look into the windows of the watchmans apt. up there. If the weather isn't clear, I would save this for another day.

The S-bahn from Hoechst is the fastest, take it to the Hauptwache and then walk to the Römer.

The site I gave is not incorrect, it's just different. My link is from Insider Tours and yours is from a city guide blog.
