During our last trip to italy we had connections in both Frankfurt and Munich. Something you MUST count at both airports is having to go back through security. You don't have get your checked bags, but we encountered long lines that hampered our connection. We actually missed our connection in Frankfurt (we had a 70 minute layover) and we made our connection in Munich (65 minute layover) by skipping the line.

Caltobello, thanks for your comments. Would you say that Munich is better/ easier than FRA to connect? I could also connect through Munich, more or less have same amt of time at each airport, 1 hr 20 mins.
