Frankfurt Airport Hotel - suggestions?

H and I have a 1 day stopover at Frankfurt airport.
Any suggestions for a hotel in, at or near (with a shuttle) the airport?

I stayed at the Sheraton Frankfurt Hotel & Towers. It is at the airport and is accessible by skybridge. It was so convenient just to cross the skybridge in the morning to go back into the airport.

You can also access the airport bahnhof in minutes from the hotel without going out of the building. It is a short train ride into Frankfurt to the Hauptbahnhof. There you can switch to another train to take you to the center of town, either to the museum area or the historic area. It is a very easy, uncomplicated process.

I've had several stop-overs at Frankfurt. It is such an easy airport to get to from the city, you might consider staying in Frankfurt itself and then take the train to the airport.

The Sheraton at the airport is handy, but it lacks charm. You might try the Steigenburger. It is very close to the airport, has more charm, and is usually cheaper than the Sheraton.

You should consider staying in Mainz, a nice town along the Rhine. It is only a short train ride from the airport.

Frankfurt city is only a short train ride from the airport. If you like to sit at outside cafes til late in the evening or stroll along the river at night, staying in the city makes a lot more sense than staying at the airport. The hotels will be cheaper too.

Depending on where your hotel is, the ride on the S-bahn will only take between 11-17 min. Most hotels are either near the main train station stop - Hauptbahnhof, the 5th stop - Hauptwache, or the 6th stop - Konstablerwache.

Check the Hilton, the Westin, the Marriot, Intercontinental (ask for a river view)
