I absolutely love this show! I would very much like to get the DVD of Venice, but if I buy it on the UK Amazon, I don't think it would work in the U.S. as princess has mentioned...anyone know if a Region 1 DVD of Venice exists?

I already inquired about the DVD and you must have a multi-region DVD Player in order to play the Region 2 version of Francesco's Series, or a Region 2 player. So, - we need to know where we could purchase the Region 1 version of these series. Please, does anyone know were we can purchase these? Thanks.

As previously mentioned, there are books to go with each of these series.

Princess, go to the Travel Channel website and see if they sell the DVDs.

I've checked the Travel Channel and so far they don't sell the DVD, hopefully, eventually they will.

I missed the episode on Northern ITaly. Well, I did see it, but I wanted to copy it, and my DVR deleted that show! Now I don't see any repeats of it. Do you think that they will repeat this Francesco series again? Do you think they will also show Francesco's Venice series?

Strange but my DVR deleted the Northern episode too and then tonight it deleted the Land Of My MOther so I had to stay up and watch it at 11pm.

What a wonderful series, he is a doll (and such a cute family).

I watched 3 of his shows and loved them! When I was in Naples back in 1998, I saw the "Veiled Christ" and thought it was an amazing sculpture. I'll be in Naples again this October, so I'm going back to see it again (among other sights).

I also saw his episode that showed Tivoli! Wow, I've read some things about it but never saw photos of the town or fountains. That is a must-see for me!

They show the previous week's show just before the new show each week. If you missed the one last night, they will show it at 6pm central then the new one at 7pm central. I have no idea how many more new ones there are in the series. He sort of implied last night that his trip was over, now that he was in Sicily and his family arrived to see him at the family home. Apparently his Mom is Sicilian and her family has been there for 500 years.

His mother's family sure had some digs, didn't they? Yes I have read it is only the four shows so it is over now. In the USA we will have to hope they will show us the Venice series.

Didn't you find him kind of sexy in a "boy next door" sort of way?

I know I said this in the other thread on the "Music, movie, book forum; but, I just can't get over the ages of these fabulous churches and homes. The interiors are mind boggling.

Really, really enjoyed this series. Yes, he's a "doll" and he knows it! ha. Did anybody else have tears in their eyes when his mama revealed his family? I felt sorta foolish! Why was "I" crying??

Only wished the program was longer so that he didn't have to rush through certain towns to fit into an hour. But,then I got to thinking maybe in Scily, not everybody's comfortable being filmed. Interesting about the WWII damaged not being repaired.

Yes! He is the sexy boy next door that is for sure. I got teary eyed too when his family surprised him. I love that the Italians don't feel they have to hide their emotions.

I loved when he was dancing the tarentella with the little nonna.

He is my new TV boyfriend, Bourdain will have to settle for second place, ha.

I didn't get to see last night's episode yet...but I told my friend when I started watching the series...at first I thought, he was unattractive, but definitely had a great voice, by the end of the first show, I thought...He's really attractive...the power of charm!

His father is the Count da Mosta and is descended from a noble Venetian family whose title is also over 500 years old. I enjoyed the series very much and am sorry it's over. Francesco is quite the charmer.

So, that's it? No more Francesco's Italy on the Travel Channel?

At least I caught last night's shows (at 7pm and 8pm).
