I've watched the first 4 episodes now and I am enjoying it. Maybe it is a little contrived but it's easy watching and has already added a few more places to my "must see" list.

I've particularly enjoyed the last 4 episodes on Greece, visiting some areas I already know (Santorini, Corfu, the Peloponnese), others I'm visiting later this year (Meteora and Delphi) and some I've yet to explore like Delos and the Cyclades.

The DVD is due for releasse on 18th August.

I missed the first 2 as I was on hol but have enjoyed the subsequent episodes and seen interesting places I hadn't seen before.

Thanks for passing on that comment, Patrick - excellent !

P.S. And thanks for the link to the yacht - not at all how it's presented in the programmes I think !! (I was thinking beautiful but basically a working boat )

The book of the series looks a bit more impressive.

BTW, Caroline, did you see the galley in the episode with the meltemme? It's a bit plusher than most landbound kitchens.

No, I didn't see that. I only remember seeing the occasional view of the woman crew member through the window & I assumed she was slaving away in a normal basic galley !
