Sandi_travelnut, I was wondering how you contacted Francesca Caruso. I was doing some research for our trip and came across her interview on Rick Steeve's website but I could not find a website for her.

We hired Sonia Tavoletta in March. She was wonderful. Very knowlegable in Roman history and accommodating (we stopped for water breaks etc.). We toured the Pantheon, and the Forum. We were supposed to go to the Coleseum but ran out of time with her (3 hours) and decided to stay in the Forum for a few more hours to explore on our own and then did the Coleseum on our own. This was in reverse of her tour (Usually the Coleseum, then the Forum and then the Pantheon -- but we were staying near Pantheon and decided to meet here there).
We also tried to hire Francesca but she was not available and she emailed me the list. Of those that were available, I inquired about their rate per hour and their backgrounds and qualifications for touring to give me a better idea of whom I was hiring.
Sonia was very helpful,as I did email her with some general questions prior to our trip and her tour was very informative. I would recommend Sonia.
