France with kids

Hi.. we are heading off next week with a 4 and 7 year old in a camper trailer. Does anyone have any recommendations of fun activities, places to see in Brittany and the Loire Valley area? We will also hit the Alsace and around the alps into Switzerland later next month.
Thank you

Britanny

fine range of castles and bike paths. I've just stuck a google map up for something else, have a look, each point is interesting. The blue lines are going to be bike paths.

Most harbours have boating schools which might entertain

Everybody in Europe crisscrosses Europe with their children during the summer, so you will find things catering to children everywhere. Just about every hotel will have a huge rack of brochures, so if you stop at a campsite I'm sure you will find all of the same things -- at least half of the brochures are geared to family of children's activities. Otherwise, just drop into the local tourist office wherever you are.

We just spent a week in Brittany at a town on the Nantes-Brest canal. Camping near the canal and renting bikes for a day (or maybe you'll have your own) would be a fun thing to do. You can see my recent trip report for some of the day-to-day things we did. We chose to stay in one place but there are some very nice campsites that are great for kids. Don't overlook some of the lesser attractions - for kids the age of your kids, just having a nice place to run around will be half the fun.

We've been using an Eyewitness Travel Family Guide to France to plan a trip for later this year. It has great info about the things kids will enjoy, including places for them to let off steam along the way and child-friendly spots to eat and stay.
