France Vacation Property Leasebacks
Hi,
Has anyone one done one of these lease back things where the french government refunds tax? Do you get to use the property ? does anyone even know what I am talking about? Thanks |
I know what you're talking about but we chose to do something different when we bought our place. I THINK you get to use it two weeks a year.

Shelia,
Are these deals available for Americans (or other non-EU residents). Do you know of any good resources that show what may be available? Thanks |
As a French expatriate living in the US for over 10 years, I am myself investigating this tax-free investment opportunity with a specialized agency in France.
I am looking into purchasing a small studio in the Pyrenees under this plan, for just 47,000 euros. This includes the VAT savings, a guaranteed rental income of 4.5% for 9 years and 3 weeks of personal use per year (which may be negociated for up to 6 weeks). I think it's a great operation overall... Feel free to contact me with any details at [email protected] |
The straight answer is I don't know. I can't think why not.
I bought a place in France with a bunch of friends last year, mostly for us to use, but partly to let out. If I can help by putting you in touch with my notary, accountant or estate agent, let me know. |
