France - Truckers Block Roads; Refineries Struck...

not a good time to be on a motoring trip in France as the spate of strikes continue into a 2nd week with no end in sight - this just reported on NPR - a fuel shortage could be on the horizon as refinery workers apparently have caused decreased production at French refineries...

meanwhile chaos for the traveler in France only promises to persist.

Might as well depress us further and tell us of warnings today by Saudis (per msnbc) of new, imminent terrorist threats to France, PalenQ.

Not too good if you want to fly anywhere from France either. A shortage of kerosene has caused the cancellation of at least 30% of all flights. Orly is closed today I believe.
Add to that the Belgian train strike and it's tough to get around just now.

Hopefully it will be sorted by next week. my husband is due to spend the week in France again for business.

Wednesday is when the protests are expected to peak, when the Senate votes on the pension age.

I thought it was Tuesday, not Wed, the day before the vote (re peak protests). That is the day they are calling for massive strikes (Tues).

The students are the ones you have to watch. Workers can easily be crushed.

Students have little to lose
