Not relevant to OP's question, but I have heard that from late 2014 Europeans will be able to buy/lease a single device to pay road tolls anywhere in the EU, like HGV lorries can now.

We don't use toll roads much - there aren't any in NL, only one toll tunnel I believe, but such a device will be useful when travelling, especially for the Dartford crossing for us. Hopefully it will also replace all the vignets which get stuck all over the windscreen, too.
