Venice back to Malpensa by train...2days for wine tasting...where to go?
Hi travel pro's....
I'm trying to plan the last leg of our three weeks in italy and would love some suggestions.
We arrive Milan; next day train to Bellagio,train to Florence, Rome and Venice. We leave Venice on a saturday and depart Malpensa on Tuesday morning {spending Monday night at an airport hotel}
Do any of you have any experience and advice on heading from Venice back to Malpensa (via train)that would include wine tasting areas or towns that are worth visiting and staying?
There's allot of info on the Veneto wine region as well as the Lombardy region around Lake Garda. I don't exactly know which towns to focus on because of our limited transportation....
Can anyone out there offer any suggestions-
Thanks so much!

Hi Ira,
I would actually love to stay in Venice longer, however we're booked at Locanda Orseolo for only 3 night's. I'm hoping that they'll be able to extend our accomidations for a night or two longer-but i suppose if that doesn't work in our favor, I could always find another hotel (in venice) for our last two nights.
I would love to hear some wine tasting suggestions though between Venice and Milan....
Help!!!

Marisal - You could always do a detour north from Verona to the South Tyrol 'Wine Route'.
The route winds through several villages between Trento and Bolzano, with a number of places where you can taste. The main centres are Caldaro and Appiano.
Hope this helps ...

stop in vicenza. spend the night. go to a wine bar there or delicatessan and they will help you plan your next day.
we stayed at the boscolo hotel and got a great rate there. play around with websites and you probably can, too.
bergamo, citta alta, is a gorgeous gem of a town, too.
these are all easily accesible by train/bus.
