France to Isle of Jersey Ferry

Hi
Does anyone have information regarding the ferry from France to Isle of Jersey. So far I have been only been able to find one service from St Malo (Condor Ferry Service) to the Isle of Jersey. Does anyone know of any other port or any other service? I will be going in January. The schedules for 2005 are not yet posted, either. Thanks for any help.

Coilow, I'll be interested in your report when you return. I met the late Gerald Durrel(brother of Laurence Durrel) , the famous Author here at the Franklin Park Zoo. He started the one on Jersey and always wanted to visit there and I have loved his books.

I took my two kids and a friend's kid on the St. Malo to Jersey Condor Ferry in 1993. I think it is a hydrofoil, by the way, not a regular boat. We went because the kids wanted to go to the beach. Before I could warn them about the temperature in the English Channel, they ran into the water. They did not stay in the water for long.

Since we basically went for a day out at the beach and a different ambiance from France, I cannot speak to the sightseeing, restaurants, etc.

We still have the Captain Condor teddy bears bought on the boat!

Remember, you will need British pounds when you get to Jersey!

Emeraude also offers service: http://www.emeraude.co.uk/efrci02/index.html

I rode Condor to from Jersey to St Malo & back a couple of years aog and was happy with the boat and the service.

Please don't refer to it as the "Isle of Jersey", it's in the Channel Islands, and is simply called "Jersey".

January is right outside the normal holiday season, and services of this sort will be very limited. There are three operators from France to the CI:
www.condorferries.co.uk;
www.emeraude.co.uk;
www.hugoexpress.com.
All of them might be disrupted by bad weather in January, and you could easily be stranded, so allow plenty of time before and after your trip.

Excuse me, m kingdom. I certainly know where it is. My friend lives there, and has for several years, and refers to it as the Isle of Jersey. Maybe I should correct her too.
As for the rest of the great advice, thank you. Keith, I will check out Emeraude as well. Happy traveling.

Geoff, I will keep the weather in mind. I had thought that maybe the service would be disrupted because of the off season. Good point.
