France / Spain travel tip

I am planning to visit France for 8 days & Spain for 8 days. I want some suggestions for South France. Which places should I visit? How many places you would suggest I have a base in so that can travel around. The trip is more of a relaxation type. We are a group of 8 people. 35-40 year age group

What would you suggest for Spain? I will be in Barcelona for 2 days.

Thanks!

What mode of transportation do you plan to use? Are you starting and ending in Barcelona? Have you perused guidebooks to see what might interest you?

What are your dates? By the south of France, do you mean the southeast or southwest? That's a lot of country to cover in only 8 days.

And with 8 people keep it simple and do not move that often. Do you know how you are going to move that many people around?

And make sure you how the bills will be paid before you go. There is always one or two who drink more the others. Also decide in advance that it is not an insult if a few people demure and head in their own direction some days.

Take a look at Belle Epoque San Sebastián just across the border from France. The culinary capital of Spain if not all of Europe, some of the finest city beaches on the continent, beautiful landscapes and a culture that people take great pride in.

What about staying in this four bedroom luxcury apartment right on the beautiful La Concha beach promenade. A five min walk to both the centre and the famous Parte vieja/Old town.

If you go, I can give you lots of more detailed tips. I've lived here and visited almost every year since 1987.
