France rail strike next week
Assuming the strike on the 13th persists from the 13th through the 20th. I have a logistical question that others may appreciate the answer to as well. Given that the rail sytem will be almost shut down I am assuming trafffic to CDG will be a nightmare. Agree? If so, what is the best way to get to the airport, how much time should we allow and any suggestions on transport other than a taxi that can be reserved in advance???? Thanks

You can reserve the shuttles, such as www.beeshuttle.com or www.parishuttle.com

During the transport strike of June 2003, we took a shuttle from CDG to our hotel in the 5th. It took about two hours to make what would ordinarily have been a trip of less than an hour. We were coming in around 8:00 am so I'm sure the traffic was especially bad at that time. I was really glad to have reserved a shuttle since, I assume, a taxi would have cost a small fortune. Bonne chance!
