We will be in Provence for a week or so next month. Which town should be our base of operations? Which hotel? We would like a comfortable one since we expect to be there for a few days. Need info asap. Thanks

Are you going to rent a car or use public transportation? That makes a lot of difference in where to stay.

You might also specify on which side of Aix-en-Provence you want to explore (using the Autoroute du Soleil as the "axis of Provence").

Avignon and Antibes are both good candidates whether you have car or are using train, exclusively.

And you can see so much more if you have a car.

You should first choose between the two main touristic areas in Provence :
The Rhone valley and delta (Avignon, Aix, etc..) and the riviera (around Nice).
