France or Southern Spain?

We have enough FF miles to get us to either Madrid or Paris in Early Feb. and we can't decide. We will have 8 nights, not inc. travel nights. We are fairly rstless travelers at this stage in our lives... for France, we'd like to spend appx 3 nights in Paris

Rough options...
Paris & Normandy
OR
Todelo, Granada, Sevilla, Andalusia area

Southern Spain will be much warmer. I was in Andalusia this past Feb (08) and it was in the 50s-60sF. Paris/NOrmandy just seems way too cold and bleak in Feb, for me at least.

**hit post accidentally**
We love scenic towns/villages, not huge museum fans (but would like to see Louvre main exhibits possibly).

Past places we have esp. enjoyed are Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Bruges, Tuscany, Amalfi Coast, Bratislava.

Any recommendations/itineraries welcome as we are in the early planning stages. Thanks!

Paris is great any time of the year, but if you want something a little different and interesting, and are interested in museums, scenic towns and villages, then you may want to consider the Pays Basque (French Basque country) and the País Vasco (Spanish Basque country).

Madrid is excellent in early Feburary, and from there you head for the north coast, instead of south.

Although I love Paris, I would vote for Spain at this time of the year.

Take a bit of time in Madrid, take the AVE to Cordoba~visit during one day, and then down to Sevilla. After a few days, meander through the white villages in Andalucia and then head towards Granada.

From Granada, take a flight to Madrid and take your flight home.

If you're getting short of time, drop off the Granada~it's not at it's best.

I didn't included Toledo and inputted Cordoba. This is a more direct travel.

I've done both those trips and they are wonderfully tied normally, but I would pick Spain for the weather.

Check and see if your ff miles will allow you to fly to Malaga. It is easier than getting to and from Madrid. Madrid didn't do much for me, but Andalusia is amazing.

Rent a car. Driving is easy and there is so much that to see when you drive. Here is my trip report:

I made the mistake of renting a vill for a month in the Malaga area a few years ago. It is completely British owned/occupied. Made trips into Portugal and on to Granada, Seville etc.

For me, it is Paris, or France elsewhere, hands down! Villefrance sur Mer if you don't want Paris. I have been in Paris in Feb....enjoyed it.

We will only confuse you with our thoughts and likes.....

We didn't like the coast of Spain either. My husband called it British Florida.

But the mountain area, Seville, Ronda, Cordoba, Granada, we enjoyed tremendously.

We were surprised with Cordoba! Liked it. We also liked some of Portugal that we visited.
