France or Italy

My husband and I will be going to Lebanon for a wedding in September 2012. For our lay over we've decided to visit either Italy or France and stay their for 6 days. I can't decide where to go. We can only go to one and my son will be coming with us (he will be 2 by that time). Which would be the better option Italy or France?

The better one is the better one for your family and their interests. What attracts you to each country? How do you envision you time in either place? Can you share more about what you hope to do and see?

which are your potential stopover airports? Paris? Rome? Milan?

do you want to stop in one place or tour a little? would you hire a car?

You can't visit either France or Italy in 6 days. And traveling with a toddler slows you down more. I'd spend the whole 6 days in Paris. Good playgrounds in Paris. And I'd rent an apartment with a washer/dryer.

I agree----Paris or Rome and rent an apartment.

No wrong answers here. Do you want city or countryside? Pasta or foie gras? So many good choices, so little time.
