France in December

Hi. I am planning my first trip to Europe with my family for December this year .Does this itinerary for France sound reasonable? Will it being Christmas time impact on our travel plans? I have heard that Lyon and Nice may not be great places to visit at this time of year.

Before arriving in Paris we are spending 10 nights in London and surrounds.

22nd of December - Catch the Eurostar from London to Paris.

23rd of December - Paris

24th - Paris

25th - Paris

26th - Day trip to Versailles. Late train to Lyon.

27th - Lyon

28th - Lyon. Afternoon train to Nice.

29th - Nice

30th - Nice - trip to Eze and Monaco

31st - Depart Nice for Italy.

Would we be better of spending three nights in Lyon than in Nice?

Thank you!

I wouldn't run to Nice in December. I'd go to Lyon in any season. And I would never bother with Monaco.
