France Horseback Riding Trip - Suggestions?
 

Hi,

A friend and I are planning a horseback riding trip in Southern France and have narrowed it down to two trips, each with Cross Country International Equestrian Vacations.

We would love your suggestions regarding which to take so that we can finalize our trip - thanks!

1. Provence Inn-to-Inn October 8-14, travels the Luberon region and rides up the lower part of the French Alps on an ancient pilgrimmage road to Lourdes.
2. France's Castles and Villages ride - October 14-21 - not sure about the weather this late in October? Ride is in and around the Dordogne Valley.
3.

If you want the true south of France, the Provence trip would be it. The Dordogne is farther north.

There is trekking available in the Pyrenees. One of my mates took this trek once and it lasted for three days. The trails went up to about 2,800 meters high and back down to a much lower-several times each day.

The guy who arranges this trek is in a village called St.Genis des Fountains. This is in Department 66 (Pyrenees Oriental).

Beautiful scenery around that area.

RANCH LA CHEVAUCHÉE (listed on this site) is the group which did the trekking in high montains. This takes trekking near to Andorra.
