Anyone know the location of the train station in Cannes. We would like to take the train to Monaco. Is it doable for a morning?Thanks.

It's very close into the center of town and easy to find. I don't have a map handy so won't go into the address, but if your question is simply is it hard to get to, the answer is no -- so long as you are staying close in Cannes.
It's a pretty short train ride and very frequent. I'd hate to do it without having at least three or four hours in Monaco, so squeezing in round trip plus time there is kind of hard for a morning, but you could get an early start. . .

There are 2 stations in Cannes, the main one, Cannes Gare, and another Cannes La Bocca. It takes just over an hour to travel from from either to Monaco <i>if</i> there are no delays. So when you ask is it doable for a morning, yes, if all you want to do is ride there, have a quick look to say &quot;been there, done that,&quot; I suppose it's &quot;doable.&quot;

The train ride is very nice because the tracks follow the coast and there are some stunning views. But I'm not sure you'd get to see the main sights like the Palace and the gardens which are &quot;on the rock&quot; and get there and back in &quot;a morning.&quot; If you're on a cruise and time is important...I'm not sure this is a good idea.

i'm not at all a fan of monaco but if you want to go there you should take a full day. frankly, a visit from Cannes with 3-4 hours including train travel is a very bad idea. Why bother if you won't have a chance to see anything there?

Thanks for the info. I have now decided on a trip to St. Paul de Vence and a couple hours on the beach in Cannes time permitting.

I would suggest going to St Paul first if you can. It gets very crowded as the day progresses. If you like modern art, don't miss the Fondation Maeght just below St. Paul.

If you're driving, on the way back to Cannes, Biot might be worth a quick stop if you enjoy watching glass blowing.

When are you planning to be in Cannes? May brings with it the film festival, when everything will be jammed. Ditto for Monaco during the Grand Prix.
