France and Greece in 2013

I want to take my grandson on a 2-week trip to France and Greece during the summer of 2013. He will be 13 at the time of the trip. He is especially enamored of old Greek history so wants to visit the old Grecian historic sites; and in France, he wants to see Normandy, the Louve, Eifel Tower, etc.

Does anyone have an estimated idea of what a trip like that would cost me including airfare from the California West Coast, staying in decent hotels, tour guide costs, etc? I do understand that the estimated cost given today would be different in 2013 when you factor inflation, airline increases, etc. I am hopeful that travel to Greece by that time will be safer also.

Any other helpful tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
