"Hi! Great forum! I am wondering if I could get some advice as well!

We are going to be in Paris for three days this summer, as I see many suggestions on here for 4 days I'm hoping to be able to do the following: Eiffel Towel/Louvre/Arc de Triomphe/Champs-Elysees/Notre Dame/Boat Tour of Seine River, good food and people watching! Any suggestions about where to stay if doing all of this, flying into CDG but then taking the overnight train to Barcelona?

renee,
Since people looking at this thread (based on itsd title) will be contributing to itineraries...and your need is hotels, you might want to start a separate thread for your question.

That being said, your question is a common one, so two mega threads are circulating here on hotels.

You will soon read about arrondissements..this is a term for districts. There are 20 of them in central Paris, starting around Louvre and wrapping around that geographically in a clockwise direction.

That being said...for a first time visit...and noting that the public transit is really good so further out is not a big issue...the 4th to 7th arrondissements are not bad choices.

Also..4th is aka Marais, 5th latin Quarter, 6th St Germain, 7th Eiffel Tower.
