FOUND A VENICE HOTEL!!
 

We found one. The group that we are traveling with found the Hotel Orion...

I know that it is not the best, but not the worst either. Rate is good at $140 EU per night.

Any thoughts on the hotel?

the reviews at tripadvisor.com are very good, and as I recall you had no other options anyway. I'm sure it will be fine, note that there is no elevator.

heck i have no idea, but it sure beats skipping Venice IMO!!!

that is fine. we are all capable. It does not have bad reviews. There are some favorable ones on this site too from other posters.

Plus the location in good. right in San Marco square.
