Fouhety (Cite Pharmacie) Brands, Paris?
So I've read quite a few things on this forum about Fouhety (City?) Pharmacie and how great their prices are. My poor boyfriend is heading to Paris next week with a mile-long shopping list of things to buy for me. I'm told he can find most of the brands I want at Galeries Lafayette, but I'm wondering if Fouhety may be less expensive. If anyone can let me know if the following brands are available at Fouhety (and if it is indeed a better value), I'd be most grateful: Avene, Clarins, Nuxe, Phyto, Diptyque, Roger & Gallet.
The advantage of Galeries Lafayette (I think) is that he would get a 10% discount upon showing his passport plus some amount of VAT refund over EUR 185, which I'm sure I'd spend at GL...is that correct? Plus it may mean less running around for the boyfriend. Any shopping advice would be appreciated! |
I think Clarins is sold for less all over Paris, there is a small pharmacy on the corner of Blvd St Germain, across from the church of St Germain and they sell all Clarins products as well as Roc, same with Roger Gallet..
I would just give him your list and let him go to town shopping for you :D I bought in all of these places and cannot remember if any was significantly better in price. Maybe just keep it easy on him with GF. Choices, sometimes they are sooo hard to make :) |
When I say Clarins is sold for less all over-I mean less than the US..

Thank you. Yes, I'm thrilled about getting Clarins for less money, and it did seem like it would be more interesting to shop at smaller pharmacies. I thought Galeries Lafayette might simplify the VAT refund, though if the pharmacies are cheaper that may not matter. Phyto, Nuxe, and Avene are much less expensive in France, from what I understand...very exciting for me! (but maybe not so exciting for my personal shopper...)

Roc makes a lip balm that is just wonderful and it cannot be bought in the US, although their other products are available. I get a few tubes to do me until my next trip, they also sell it in Montreal.
Fouhety is fun for women when they can look at the make-ups etc, sample perfumes, he will not have as much fun as you would if you were there :D |
ttt...Anyone else know if Fouhety or other pharmacies would be the best bet for the brands mentioned above? Are their prices that good or would Galeries Lafayette be a better option?

Does your boyfriend enjoy shopping? because that store is wall-to-wall people, milling about on two floors. It was a bit confusing to me to figure out the products and the categorization (or store layout). I ended up grabbing some soaps and got the heck outta there.

Hmm, I see. Perhaps Galeries Lafayette would be the kinder option in terms of his sanity. I've read GL is a must-see in any event.
