Forum Hotel vs. Del Senato in Rome

Does anyone have any advice on which is a better choice: Forum Hotel vs. Del Senato? I love the historic views both hotels offer, but I've never been to Rome and can't tell which would be better for location, quality, service, etc. I'm traveling by myself next week. Both hotels are offering very similar prices ~140 Euros/night. Any advice?

Easy. Del Senato. The Forum is very tired and the bathrooms miniscule. Plus, the Pantheon is more central.

Don't know the Forum as NYC does, but for location, del Senato seems far superior.

And that's a great rate for dS.

Best wishes,

We've stayed at the Forum and enjoyed it. Friends love the Senato. But, my favorite spot is the Pantheon.. so I;d go with the Senato. - (Especially at this time of the year when weather could be iffy. We were in rome the end of October and it rained, rained, rained.)

Have stayed at both and it's no contest--Del Senato. Make sure to ask for a Pantheon view room when you book.

That is a very low rate you got at the del Senato. Good for you.

Thanks for everyone's feedback! Del Senato seems to be the overwhelming favorite, so that's what I've booked. Appreciate your responses!

Can you give me the web address for that price you've got at Del Senato?

I stayed at the Santa Chiara when I went to Rome, and you might get a great rate there also. If you look at their website, the rooms don't appear so great. But they are much better than they look on the site. Very clean, great service, quiet, fabulous location one block from the Pantheon. For no extra charge, you can get a room with a terrace. Our room overlooked the Piazza della Minerva. I've had other friends who stayed there also, and loved it. There is lots of information on the hotel posted in this chat room.
