Fort William/Ben Nevis, Scotland, Gondola

We are fine tuning our trip and I just discovered the gondola at Ben Nevis/Fort William. I am very interested in this and have sent an inquiry, but can't locate how long it takes to do the round trip and what might be available at the top. Honestly, I don't much care what's at the top, but I do need to know how long it takes as we are with a driver on the two days it is possible to go.

Reasons for going are the scenery and photo opportunities! Trip is mid-May (next month)

Thanks!

As far as I can see it's on Aonach Mor, not Ben Nevis itself. They say it takes 12-15 minutes on the trip up or down, and when you're up, you spend as long as you like walking to see the views (depending on the weather) or doing various outdoorsy things:

I've no personal experience of this, but the answers to all your questions are on the official website: http://www.nevisrange.co.uk/

It takes 12-15 mintues each way on the gondola and there is a restaurant/bar at the top with plenty of walking oppotunities. You could stay as long or little as you like.

It takes 15 minutes each way - not actually Ben Nevis but Aonach Mor from where you can see Ben Nevis.

Thank you all so much. I am sure we will do this, weather permitting. The video looks like it will be just what I was hoping for.

We did this last trip and it was amazing! I had hot cocoa at the top and took pics,

We've added it as a definite, if weather permits. I sure hope so. Guess I better add another layer to my wardrobe as I bet it is really chilly at the top.

Saving for me.

And hoping challiman writes a very detailed trip report so I can pick her brain! :-))

I will do my best to write a good trip report. Be warned, I'm not a foodie, though I love food. I keep a journal every night I'm traveling, to record the highlights (and lowlights) of the trip. I'm hoping for as little rain as possible, but it will be what it will be. Can't wait.

Here's what I wrote in my trip report in here about it:

"We then headed to Ft. William and decided to go to the Nevis Range Gondolas along the way since it was a clear day. This was £9 each and really worth it. The gondolas take you up the mountainside which in itself was fun. Then you are at the top for some amazing views. We had hot chocolate (with Bailys) there and it showered, then the sun came out and we got pictures of a rainbow. We all really loved this attraction."

That sounds just about perfect, amelie!
I will look for your trip report now!
