Forodites Experience w/ These Hotels in Montalcino, Cortona & Assisi?

I'm considering these hotels and would love to hear your comments!

Montalcino - Hotel Guilio or Residence Montalcino

Cortona (near) - Locanda de Molino

Assisi - Hotel Umbra has had good reviews here

Thanks everyone!

We have stayed 5 or 6 times at the Umbra. We like it's location, just off of Piazza Del Comune. Although it is near the main square, it is generally quiet at night . There is occasional noise from a nearby ristorante. The hotel has great views out over the valley. We try to stay in room 46. It has doors that open on a small deck with views of the town below and the valley beyond.
The furnishings in the rooms are old but the bathrooms are new, at least in the 3 rooms we've stayed in. Some have a shower and some a tub with a hand shower. There is an ample buffet breakfast with hot and cold choices, though the hot items are usually lukewarm at best. There is no parking at the hotel. We use public transportation so that is not an issue. The staff has always been friendly and helpfull. They also have a very good restuarant.
Have a great trip.

Thank you MK! I'm going to be driving and assume I'll have to park at the public parking lot, but that's ok.

Anyone else have experience with these properties?

Hello Dayle, I think you mean Hotel Giglio[Lily] in Montalcino. Hard to beat the location. Looks like a good plan to me.

We stayed at the Hotel Umbra in September and loved it. Location, staff, breakfast - all great. It was nice to sit out on their communal terrace at the end of the day to share a glass of wine and meet others staying in the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.
