If you bank with Westpac, Scotia Bank, BNP, Barclays, Deutsche Bank or Bank of America there are no charges for using each other bank's ATMs. It doesn't matter what type of account you have. Someone recently posted the BOA rules & conditions but since the b***dy seach function won't pick up anything past May (another story) I can't find it.
As a Westpac customer - I pay AUD 5.00 per withdrawal on each non-alliance bank.

I rather thought we beat this to death in the late spring and summer of '04.

If Fodor's search function worked - I would agree with you - but given the disfunctionality these posts will inevitably rehash arguments & discussions - just like Groundhog Day.
