For you airport shuttle fans: there is a new service linking Beauvais airport to Paris

I am no big fan of airport shuttle services out of CDG: I think they are a lot of hassle to save € 5, if any. But getting to Beauvais is another kettle of fish: you have to trek to Porte Maillot to take the Ryanair bus 3 hours before your flight. This new service provides a comfier alternative, but at a cost: between € 28 and € 38 per person depending on the size of your party. But it's door to door... Needless to say I haven't tried it personnally. Has anyone on this forum?

Art, if you only saved 5 Euros by taking a shuttle out of CDG to anywhere then I think you took the wrong shuttle!

Speaking of shuttles from CDG, I have been reading conflicting reports about the service of many of the shuttle services, i.e. Bluvan and Parishuttle. Can anyone cite recent experience, either positive or negative with a service to help me better decide which one to use? I used PS on my last visit and while not overly thrilled with their service (had to wait quite a long time for pickup upon arrival), I got to and from as promised. Also, are there any frequent visitors who exclusively use one service because of exemplary service? The only reason I am so concerned is because on a recent trip to Rome I was stuck when my shuttle did not pick me up for departure, calling 1/2 hour after scheduled pickup to tell me they weren't coming. I was forced to have the hotel hire me a car to get to the airport and never was able to recoup my payment from the shuttle service. Thanks for any help.

It wouldn't be that hard to only save 5 euro by taking a shuttle from CDG -- lots of them are around 17-20 euro per person, and for a couple, a taxi could cost only 40 euro, depending on destination and time. That's not so unusual. I paid less then 40 euro for a taxi once when going to the 9th arrondisement. If you took a shuttle with three people, you definitely could save only a couple euro or even likely spend more taking a shuttle than a taxi.

We need to get from Beauvais to CDG and this looks like a great option (96 Euros cheaper than the services linked from the Ryanair/Beauvais websites). Also interested in knowing if anyone has used this service????? (http://beauvais.airport-shuttle.com)

We used this service in June. They were prompt and the van was clean and comfortable.

Only one little problem:

The driver FELL ASLEEP while he was driving!!!

I saw him nodding off and yelled at him.

He was a very young guy, and the drive is long and dull (although he was going WAY TOO fast) and it was early in the morning. Had he been up all night? Who knows?

Really, it just, once again, confirmed ny belief that the most dangerous part of any trip is getting to the airport and back.

I've always used the RER from CDG after nearly missing a flight when the boss booked me on a shuttle instead. I won't use Ryanair, so don't know about Beauvais, but is there not a train/ airport bus out to there?

No train, and as the original poster stated the bus isn't convenient for everybody.

For cheapskates, the method is Ryanair bus between Beauvais and Porte Maillot in Paris for 13 € and Air France bus between CDG and Porte Maillot for 12 €. Not a bargain in any case. I would even tend to think that a taxi might be cheaper starting at 2 passengers, at least during the day.

Thanks again Ira, we'll be looking into taking the shuttle then - that's more than the flight for both of us!!!
