for Tuscany, FCO or Milan MXP?

Booked a flight to and from Milan because it was cheaper, but now I am thinking that it looks as though driving to Fiumicino would be a lot easier from either Greve or Montepulciano, where we will be staying. Any advice would be much appreciated. Because of a glitch with my reservations, I can probably switch flights if need be. Thanks.

FCO is closer but the closest would be to Florence or Pisa (Pisa is bigger but depending on what airline you fly, Florence works to.) Luftansa flies to Florence (Firenze) for sure. Alot more carriers fly to Pisa.

Thanks, yes, I know those are closer but the extra cost for family is $300. Not sure whether it is worth it or not...

If the money is an issue, then choose Rome. I believe it's a 2-3 hour drive.

Since you said Milano (MXP) was cheaper, then stay with that. I fly in and out of Milano for stays along the Italian Riviera and Tuscany. I personally think it is easier to access the area than coming up from Rome.

I've done them both in the last couple years. It's a long drive from Milan to Greve. IMHO the FCO drive is much easier and takes less time.
