For Priceline people - London room question
We got two rooms for one night in London. Now my daughter isn't coming on the trip.
What do you think the chances are of upgrading the one room at the Olympia Kensington Hilton?

I think very few people have ever done this, and probably no one at that specific hotel. I have never read about it on the bidding boards. One thing to consider - is the second room listed in your daughter's name, or in your name? That might make a difference.
I don't think I'd try to do this at check-in, but I would write to the manager in advance for special consideration.

This is a tough one. On the one hand, you have this in your favour: you aren't asking for a refund, just to apply what you've already paid toward a higher category of service.
On the other hand, the rooms offered by hotels to Priceline consist of distress inventory, and this might not include the highest category of rooms (hotel might be able to sell those for regular or at least a higher price, even twice the Priceline price.) Plus, you'd have to allow for Priceline's cut from the price of the room you're no longer using.
Still, it can't hurt to ask - I suggest sooner, rather than later, and as Willtravel suggests, I'd opt for the manager.

The first person I emailed with was willing only to give us the two seperate rooms.
Today I got an email from someone higher up who gave us an upgrade to a deluxe room.
Kind of an expensive upgrade! But, though I wish so much she could do the trip, with 17 year old not coming, the cost savings will be enormous.
For JaneB, who wanted the outcome!
