For fans of Montalcino & Isabella
I know many of you have visted Montalcino in the past and have also read the books by Isabella Dusi about her life in Montalcino. I was one of her early fans.
Well, I recently had an email conversation with Isabella who is planning a tour of the USA soon to promote her books but to also continue to raise money to rebuild their local church of San Pietro. Here is a link to her site for those who may feel inclined to support her cause. http://www.save-san-pietro-montalcino.com/ You can also contact Isabella directly if you have questions. Bob,
I'm unfamiliar with this author or her books, please share more. I love Montalcino! (I'm returning next month.) Regards. |
Thank you Bob for posting this. I just found a couple of her books on Amazon the other day and intended to order them so this is very timely for me.

Grazie Bob! Another long time fan here. I guess the restoration never finishes, does it? A worthy cause.

OK--for those who do not know---Isabella and Luigi are transplanted Aussies who cashed in and moved to Italy about 10 years ago. After 5 years she wrote a book called VANILLA BEANS AND BRODO that I highly recommend to you. You can still buy it on Amazon.com
She later wrote a 2nd book named BEL VIN that is also available via Amazon. Anyone going to Montalcino needs to read the first book to understand life in a typical Tuscan hill town---it will enhance your visit. |
You are right, Dayle. That project may go on for years.
