For Europeans on the US

I lived and worked in the Boston area and never had any bad experiences.
My only experience as a tourist was a coast to coast trip I took with my husband before we left.
We had Massachusetts number plates on our car and when people remarked that we were a long way from home, they meant a long way from New England.
It was automatically assumed that I was a Bostonian and my Scottish husband for some reason was assumed to be Canadian.

Matthew and ThinGorjus (and Sylvia):
Again, I meant no offense. My parents were from the Republic of Ireland, so I know that back in the 80's there was certainly more support for the republican cause here in the US (Bobby Sands on his hunger strike, etc). Nowadays, the IRA is widely viewed as the equivalent of Al Qaeda, at least by those who understand what really happened during the troubles.
I'd say we should end this with a truce, but that would mean that I was angry with you initially, which I was not. So let's agree to let this lie and get back to talking travel. :^)
Cheers!
