for burgundy wines lovers
seen in my today local newspaper...
waouh!
the whole page is here (today only I think)

Jayer has been one of my favorite producer (especially during the days of Jayer-Gilles).
Along the lines of great producers like Dom. Leroy and Dom. Rom. Contee, these are good wines for good prices (as far as I can make out with my minimal French) - i.e. at around E300+ per bottle of the 1er cru.
The V-R Beaumonts is a great collector wine at a fair price of E650 each.

coco, those are amazing prices! Thanks for posting that.
Budman ... it goes something like this: An auction attracted many people into the room, as well as foreign wine-lovers who bid by phone. Eight bottles, all from the same grower--Henri Jayer-- achieved exceptional prices: Vosne-Romanée Beaumnonts 1er cru 1970 at €650 and €600 ... and the rest can be deciphered the same way.
That may not be a perfect translation, but it's close enough, I think.

thanks Anselm you're nice!
and for those who missed the whole message yesterday, it is still on the website today (and maybe tomorrow as they obviously don't work on sundays... at least on their website).
this morning I received an ad which is so typically French for Fauchon (with an old fashion music) that you must have a look at it. there are few french words (and even LOVE so no problem for Budman ;-)

do you see France that way?
